BCCI acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary said in a release, “The decision has been made to allow the trio to be in the best physical condition ahead of India’s tour to Australia.”
India will travel to Australia later this month for series comprising of 3 ODIs, 4 Tests, 3 T20Is. The first T20I between the two teams will take place on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at the Gabba in Brisbane.
In the previous two matches, left-arm spinner Kuldeep picked a total of five wickets, while Bumrah took three wickets. Kuldeep Yadav, who picked up three wickets in the first match, was adjuged man-of-the-match for his performance. Pacer Umesh was left out of the playing XI in the second match.
The All-India Senior Selection Committee has added Punjab right-arm seamer Siddarth Kaul to India’s squad for the final T20I that will be held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday. Kaul, who made his T20I debut against Ireland in Dublin in June earlier this year, has so far featured in two matches. Kaul, who recently played for Punjab, in the Group B Ranji match against Andhra, has played 3 ODIs and 2 T20Is for India in the past. He has not taken any wickets in the 50-overs format but has 3 wickets under his belt in the shortest format at an average of 13.
India have already clinched the T20I series by winning the first two matches in Kolkata and Lucknow respectively.
