Rajasthan Elections: Stage for Tonk Set Up, BJP’s Yoonus Khan V Cong’s Sachin Pilot

Replacing its sitting MLA Ajay Singh Mehta for Rajasthan Elections, and considering the sizeable presence of Muslim population in the constituency the BJP announced to field Younus Khan against Sachin Pilot from Tonk seat. (See also: Ahuja resigns)Rajasthan Elections

Both Mr Pilot and Mr Khan will file their papers today, the last day of filing nominations.

Younus Khan: State transport minister and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje’s closest aide. One of the two Muslim candidates elected on BJP ticket in 2013. He is a sitting MLA from Deedwana constituency of Nagaur district.

The BJP has released its fifth and final list of the candidates for Rajasthan Elections in the  200-member Assembly.

Other candidates announced are:
– Nanala Aahri from Kerwara,
– Mukesh Goyel Kotputali,
– Mohit Yadav from Behror,
– O P Saini from Karauli,
– Rajendra Vinayaka from Kekri and
– Ramchandra Utta from Khinwsar.

Rajasthan Elections are on December 7 and results will be declared on December 11.
