Pakistan wrapped up a series win against Australia in style. Pakistan won the 2nd test by 373 runs.
A superb spell of fast bowling from Mohammad Abbas put an end to any doubts about the outcome in Abu Dhabi.
In an extended session, Australia’s batting order collapsed yet again. The sheer toughness of the task brought its own constricting pressures. Abbas had it easy in ripping through them with lethal accuracy. Marnus Labuschagne and Mitchell Starc showed some Aussie fightback, but it was too little and too late. That partnership was broken half an hour before lunch on day 4 as Yasir Shah finally joined the party.
Asad Shafiq, captaining in place of Sarfraz Ahmed – the regular captaining is being examined for possible concussion – kept Abbas on for an extended spell this morning, and for good reason. Mohammad Rizwan was keeping up to the wicket, and Abbas, with his incisive off-stump line, wrecked the Aussies.
