Norway willing to share experience of clean energy development with Hanoi

Renewable Energy

Grete Løchen said that promoting the use of clean and renewable energy is an area in which Norway has a lot of experience. This is also a common trend that all countries in the world are aiming for and Norway is willing to share its experience with Vietnam, especially Hanoi, the Ambassador said.

She also stated that developing green marine economy combined with policies to protect ocean resources is one of the important goals of the Norwegian Government. Vietnam and Norway have similar length of coastline, so marine economy and aquaculture can be potential cooperation areas between the two sides, Grete Løchen noted.

Chairman Chung said that Hanoi is focusing on developing a sustainable economy, dealing with environmental pollution, increasing the use of clean and renewable energy, and building e-government towards the building of a smart city.

Therefore, he noted that Hanoi wishes to cooperate with Norwegian enterprises in the application of renewable energy to mass-burn waste-to-energy projects and to improve the electricity grid system.

According to Chairman Chung, Hanoi has no sea but the city has many rivers and lakes and it expects to learn Norway’s experience of eco-friendly marine economic development to apply to pollution treatment and promote economic values of rivers and lakes in the city.

In particular, the Hanoi leader expressed his wish that Ambassador Grete Løchen would become a bridge to foster the relationship between the two countries as well as between Hanoi and localities of Norway.
