KIEV, Nov 26 (Sputnik) The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) decided at a meeting on Monday to impose martial law in the country for 60 days, the decision has yet to be approved by the Verkhovna Rada.Earlier, the proposal to impose martial law was supported by President Petro Poroshenko.
“To offer the President of Ukraine to impose martial law in Ukraine for a period of 60 days, I urge to support the proposal,” NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov said at NSDC meeting.
After that, the council voted to support this decision.
The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine or NSDC, is an advisory state body to the President of Ukraine. It is a state agency tasked with developing a policy of national security on domestic and international matters in advising the President of Ukraine
