MP election: Despite anti-incumbency, BJP set to retain Bina seat

Despite anti-incumbency in air, the Bharatiya Janata Party looks set to retain the Bina seat in coming Vidhan Sabha election, scheduled on November 28. Once a small town with 1.80 lakh voters, this assembly constituency , a part of Sagar Lok Sabha, was once only known for Bina Railway junction, an important station and a large Western Central Railway set-up here.However, the setting up of Bharat –Oman Refinery Corporation, a joint venture of Indian and Omani Government and a thermal power plant by JP group has put this small hamlet on the map of development. The BJP has repeated its sitting MLA Mahesh Ray who is credited with many developmental projects in the area.The town, which once used to be a nightmare due to heavy traffic congestion, now boasts of a two lane wide road network.‘’There is round the clock power supply for lighting and irrigation purposes which is considered as the biggest relief for farmers’’, a farmer Rajendra Upadhyay of nearby Gada village said.‘’The city infrastructure have been recalibrated, basic amenities have properly been improved, every house and street has pure water supply and it is now a crime free city laced with CCTV cameras at all important points across the town” former BJP office bearer Ranjana Sarraf proudly told UNI.”Our leader Mahesh Ray had executed many development projects for the areas in past also as Bina Municipality chairman,,” she added.
