NEW DELHI: The legislative assembly election results for five states – Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Mizoram and Chhattisgarh – is going to be announced on Tuesday, December 11. All the states have made necessary arrangements for the counting day. The central paramilitary forces have been deployed around the strongrooms, where voting machines are kept.

The assembly election results of these five states are likely to influence the upcoming 2019 General Elections of India. They also influence the stock markets.

When the counting will start?

The counting of votes will begin at 8.00 AM on Tuesday, December 11, 2018. The trends would start coming out soon after. The final results for all the five states will be released by evening.

What exit polls 2018 predicted?

As per the exit polls conducted on December 7, out of the five states, the BJP is facing tough competition in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. The exit polls show signs of a hung assembly in both Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. In Rajasthan, exit polls predicted a clear majority for Congress party. However, the INC is likely to lose in the northern state of Mizoram. K Chandrashekar Rao-led TRS is likely to retain Telangana, the exit polls predicted.
