The Congress member from Gurdaspur in Punjab Sunil Jakhar also made a petition to the Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Majahan praying for a privilege motion against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for what he said “deliberately misleading the Supreme Court and Parliament” in connection with the Rafale fighter jet deal.
In his petition, a copy of which was made available here, Mr Jakhar alleged that there was “serious miss representation of vital, significant facts” to the Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, it is still not clear who is misleading, or who is leading the country.
The Congress Party gave notice on the breach of the privilege in Rajya Sabha on Rafale issue and demanded an explanation from the Government on why it provided a ‘wrong’ information on Rafale deal.
The Leader of Opposition in the Upper House Gulam Nabi Azad has sent notice to the Rajya Sabha.
On the commencement of the Rajya Sabha proceedings on Monday, the Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu was giving briefing about various notices and proposals given by the members.
Mr Azad said that he had sent a notice on the breach of privilege as the government mislead the country and the Supreme Court as well on Raphael deal case.
Replying to Mr Azad, the Chairman Naidu said that since this issue is sub judice before the Supreme Court, therefore, no decision has been taken on the notice.
